North Edinburgh Family Fun Day

Shut Up and Sing aka Wedding Weekend hd
The Academy was delighted to be part of and support the area wide Family Fun Day yesterday, which took place at Muirhouse playing fields. Between 150-200 people attended what was another fun packed day.

Jumping for Joy on PLG

The Shawshank Redemption download
The Escapist buy Week 2 of our summer holiday programme ‘Play Like Gerrard’ has reached the halfway stage. Once again we have 40 young children signed-up and taking part. Following this week’s programme, we break for 2 weeks before PLG resumes again w/b 3/8/09 and ends w/b 10/8/09.

Academy Reaches 'New Heights'

The Academy took 6 young people to the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena this week, as part of the area wide summer holiday programme (YAG). Such trips will soon become a regular occurance for SFSP participants, with future trips planned during the Edinburgh Fringe, also to Hampden for the Scotland vs. Holland match later in the year.

A Sparry, Barry, Finale!

Today was the perfect end to week 1 of our PLG summer holiday programme. It was also the debut of our new Academy mascot, ‘Sparry’ the squirrel who was on hand to present certificates plus gifts to the 40+ children who took part.

CCLASP It's a Knockout

Countdown to Challenge Cup

The countdown is on for the inaugural Spartans FC Challenge Cup (pictured left). Four Teams will complete for the trophy, Hamilton Academical FC, Raith Rovers FC, Blyth Spartans FC and Spartans FC. The pre-season tournament will run over 2 days, 18 and 19 and July, with 2 games on each day (kick off times 12.30pm and 3.15pm). Tickets are available in advance from the Academy office and/or at the gate on the day of the game(s).

'Healthy Living' for the Day

The Academy is delivering a 1 day Healthy Living workshop today for a group of young people from Fairbridge. During the day, learners will be introduced to sports science, the importance of peparing and eating the right food, take part in a ‘Question of Sport’ quiz and lastly enjoy a technical coaching session.
