Part-time Sessional Youth Worker role
Written by Sammy on February 26, 2010 – 10:50 am -An exciting part-time employment opportunity has arisen for someome to work at the Academy to support two of our weekend programmes. One of them, the Friday FooTEA club is due to start at the beginning of April, whilst the other is our well established Sunday Night Super League.
Both programmes run from 6-9pm on Friday and Sunday evenings respectively. If you are interesting in applying for this role, please send your CV to info@spartanscfa.com before Friday 12th March.

Friday ‘FooTEA’ Club
Written by Sammy on February 26, 2010 – 10:36 am -The Academy is delighted to announce it has secured funding from the Tartan Army Childrens Charity (TACC) towards the cost of creating and introducing our latest community programme, the Friday FooTEA Club. The Club, which will start on Friday 2nd April, will be aimed at 8-12 year olds. It will provide young people with the opportunity to play football and indoor games, as well enjoy a nutrious meal. Castle Rock Edinvar Coaching Sessions

Our regular weekly coaching sessions delivered in partnership with Castle Rock Edinvar Housing Association are up and running again. With 20 young people signed-up already, this community programme is off to a great start in 2010.

Hidden Treasures Exhibition

Our Hidden Treasures exhibition remains on show at North Edinburgh Arts Centre until Friday 19th February, following which the images will be re-located to the SFA Museum at Hampden. The last leg of the exhibition will take place at the Western General Hospital.

Academy says ‘Alo ‘Alo to French National Squad

Street Football in a ‘New’ Place Near You
Written by Sammy on February 2, 2010 – 4:36 pm -Our highly successful Street Football in a Safe Place Programme expanded this week into 2 new venues, namely Royston & Wardieburn Community Centre and The Greenhouse, enabling us to increase our ‘free provision’ for young people to play football in a safe, fun environment.

It’s all Smiles at Craigroyston
Written by Sammy on February 1, 2010 – 12:21 pm -Our long awaited Spartans Smilers (SS) oral health related programme started today with our pilot in Craigroyston Primary School. Around 40 x P3 aged children attended the first ever SS session (which we hope will become one of our signature Academy programmes).
