The Academy welcomed the Glory & Dismay Adult Literacy Programme back this evening.  Tonight’s guest speakers were Walter McGill from our Women’s 1st team, together with 1st team players Claire Crosbie and Hayley Lauder.

Aberlour Children’s Charity Trust

The Academy has agreed to provide a home for Aberlour Children’s Charity Trust (ACCT), Edinburgh Outreach project (which works across the City).  ACCT is the largest, solely Scottish, childen’s charity  and provide help to over 6000 of Scotland’s most vulnerable children, young people and families each year.

Forthview Primary School SRTRC Event

The Academy is delighted to once again be hosting a Show Racism The Red Card event for one of our local Primary Schools, Forthview.  The 90 minute conference has been arranged through CEC and SRTRC.  On the panel will be Academy Community Coach Jack Beesley.

Short Listed for NHS Award

One of our signature community programmes – Spartans Smilers - has been nominated and short-listed for an award at the NHS Lothian ‘Celebrating Success Awards 2010′.  The Winners will be announced at a ceremony later this month.

High School Homework Club

The Academy launched it’s latest partnership programme with Broughton High School yesterday, when our new Homework Club was launched.  S1/S2 pupils are invited to sign-up for 30 mins of study, followed by a 60 min football coaching session, delivered by Academy Community Coaches.

Levein North Edinburgh for a Night

An ‘Active’ Programme for Craigroyston PS

Starting today, between now and the end of the year the Academy will deliver 4 x 8 week programmes for 4 x P1-P3 aged classes at Craigroyston PS.  During this period, a 1 x P1 class, 2 x P2 classes and lastly a 1 x P3 class will all take part.  This programme forms part of our Academy School Visit Programme, delivered in partnership with our local Active Schools programme.

All Smiles at Forthview and Pirniehall

Our Spartans Smilers oral health programme in partnership with the NHS starts in 2 x local primary schools today.  P3 aged school children from both Forthview and Pirniehall Primary Schools start our 5 week programme today.
