The Spartans Community Football Academy

The Academy would like to wish all it’s customers, friends and neighbours a Happy New Year.  The Academy is closed for business on 1st and 2nd January.  We re-open on 3rd January, with a whopping 5 matches scheduled for the 3G between 11am and 9pm that day.

The Academy will be closed with effect from 10am on Christmas Eve.   We would like to wish all of our customers, suppliers, neighbours and users a Merry Christmas.

We will be fully open for business again with effect from Monday 27th December onwards.  With 20 games booked between 27/12 and 9/1, it promises to be a jam-packed fortnight of football.

The Academy was delighted to deliver 45 christmas presents to Ashbrook, our local Salvation Army life house for homeless people. We would like to thank everyone from across the Spartans family who made a donation.

The Academy full 3G synthetic pitch is cleared and available for bookings over the festive period.  To book a 7/8 a side training pitch and/or 11 a side pitch for a festive friendly match, please call the Academy office on 0131-552-7854.

Sadly, the Academy is closed for business today, as you can see from the picture taken at 8.30am this morning, the facility is covered in 2/3cm of snow (with more on the way).  Further updates will be published on the website as & when there is any change.

The Academy fully re-opened for business on Saturday, with all synthetic pitches currently playable it’s ‘business as usual’.

The Academy has launched it’s Christmas Present appeal, a new initiative aimed at providing some festive cheer for our local neighbours ‘Ashbrook’, the nearby Salvation Army life-house.

The huge task of clearning the snow off the main Academy 3G pitch is well and truly underway.  A special thanks to those volunteers who braved the elements on Tues night to help us get off to a good start.  If you have a spare few hours tionight and/or tomorrow night, please pop down and play your part in helping us to achieve our goal.
