Education Internships at The Academy

In The Academy's Education Department we are delighted that our partnerships across many local primary and secondary Schools have blossomed this year . In particular, our partnership with Craigroyston Community High School has opened up a unique opportunity for two of their S5 students.

Since the beginning of May, our Education Officer David has had the pleasure of welcoming Robyn and Schenai from the High School as part of an internship opportunity.  Both students have been working in St David’s and Granton primary schools, gaining an insight into life in local schools and the work of our education team.

The students have experienced 3  of our core projects: Sphero Superstars STEM project, Roots, Shoots and Scores Sustainable Living project and our BeMe Mental Health project. They have participated in sessions, lead group work and reflected on their experiences. We hope that the opportunity has allowed them to explore whether a career in education may be something they wish to pursue in the future.

Robyn and Schenai have fully immersed themselves into their time at The Academy and have been dedicated to the young people that we work with - showing care, compassion and kindness. They are a credit to themselves, the local community and Craigroyston Community High School. We wish them all the very best for the future.
