We have an immediate vacancy for a professional, energetic individual keen to deliver a great customer experience and support players as they learn and develop their football skills.

We are seeking a football coach to deliver and manage football sessions and games in one of our partner schools and also to deliver and manage our popular football Birthday Parties.

Job Title: Birthday Party Lead Coach

Responsible For: Children aged 3-11 years

Responsible To: SCFA Football Development Manager

Qualifications: SFA Children’s Coaching Certificate 1.2 essential. SFA Children’s Coaching Award 1.3 desirable. Current First Aid qualification desirable.

Hours: 12hrs per week: Wednesday 3:00-5:00pm, Saturday and Sunday various

Salary: Living wage and uniform provided

Start Date: ASAP (subject to PVG checking)


Main Duties:

Birthday Parties Package

Oversee the planning, preparation, organisation and delivery of Birthday party football sessions to children

Input of information into our Class4Kids online booking platform

Communicating effectively with customers regarding birthday party details including number of attendees, food requirements and post-party feedback

Seek information from the Football Development Manager as to whether there are any special needs of the participants involved e.g. medical conditions, disabilities, etc.

Ensuring the coaching environment is safe for all children involved

Assist with ‘setting down’ of sessions, with all equipment being returned and stored correctly

Creatively promote Birthday Party packages hosted at The Academy

Abide by and promote our aims and objectives, and The Academy’s core values

Granton Primary School Football Team

Oversee the planning, preparation, organisation and delivery of Granton Primary School Football Team training sessions and school football matches

Registering all attendees correctly

Liaise with Granton Primary School about training, matches and player selection

Excellent time management and problem solving: looking ahead to upcoming fixtures; e-mailing other school teams and coordinating meet times on match day for players

Ensuring the coaching environment is safe for all children involved

Ensuring all children are given the equal opportunity to learn, improve and have fun

Assist with ‘setting down’ of sessions, with all equipment being returned and stored correctly

Communicating effectively with the other community coaches regarding session plans, health and safety, and feedback

Attend all meetings on behalf of Granton Football Team when appropriate

Develop your own skills by attending SFA coach education and any in-service training that is organised by the The Academy

The role of Lead Coach at The Spartans Community Football Academy (The Academy) is classified as ‘regulated work’ with children. Before The Academy can appoint you, it must check that you are suitable to do this type of work. You will be asked to become a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member and to make a self-declaration of any relevant convictions or investigations. You will also need to undertake any relevant Child Protection training advised by The Academy. Guidance and support will be given to successful candidates.
