Summer Fun at Spartans

It's been a packed summer programme at Spartans with Making Magic Memory trips to Blairdrummond Safari Park, the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Escape Rooms, Innoflate and the Sealife Centre. We will certainly need another holiday to recover. Girls' group went to Port Edgar Watersports for some sailing and paddle boarding and Marie gave us a story about the day.

On Wednesday the 13th of July we took the Girls' group to Port Edgar Watersports for a sailing experience.  There were 8 girls and 2 members of staff who took part and we really did make some magic memories.

Abi (our youth worker) faced her fears head-on and was an amazing role model for the girls - she wasn't confident in the water but even when the boat capsized she stayed calm and was more worried about the young people than herself!

Four of our team had to be rescued when their boats got stuck in the sand as the tide was going out. They were really brave and crossed the muddy sand to the rescue boats and then got new boats to join back in.

The best memory of the day was when Abi and N fell in the water - they were laughing so hard they found it hard to get back in the boat.

We'd like to say a big thank you to Port Edgar Watersports for a great day - they are a social enterprise just like Spartans so it was great to support them and we are lucky to have the chance to try new experiences close to home.
