Women's team player

Her love of football was ignited at The Academy and that passion has taken her to gain Scottish representative honours.

I came to FooTEA when I was 12. Amy the youth worker asked me if I wanted to join and I came with my friend Georgia. I was nervous at the start but I made good friends. I got to go on holiday at Hopscotch and go on trips with Magic Memories.

I think that it made me a better person – I got to meet people and got more confident. If anything went wrong you could tell the youth workers.

I am in the Spartans Women's first team and I've been on  Scottish National U17 squad. Now I'm on the U19 squad but I want to get into the A squad. I've finished my exams and I'm going to Edinburgh College later this year to study Health, Fitness and Exercise.

Michaela's first love is football and FooTEA club on Fridays was made for her! It's really fantastic that she has now joined the football club and we are all behind Michaela's goal to get into the National A Squad. She's a great role model for all the girls at The Academy.
