"Still Kicking" is our football fitness session for women of all abilities and experience levels. This weekly hour-long session on a Thursday evening is free of charge - just turn up and enjoy the fun! We've got boots available if you need to borrow some. I first came to Still Kicking in August 2019. A couple of friends who were already attending persuaded me to join in. I never dreamt that I’d be able to play football. I always thought I was rubbish at sport but Still Kicking has been a new experience for me. I’ve learnt new skills and have a much better sense of positioning and tactics - although the present Covid situation means that I’ve not been able to apply them much yet! Coming along to Still Kicking has definitely developed my confidence around team games. It’s great fun and everyone is so friendly. I’d say to anyone to come along, you don’t need to be any good and it’s fitness without really noticing. There’s a lovely vibe and it’s very inclusive. The coaches are really supportive and provide options to suit all levels. It’s even free - though I’d still go if I had to pay! If I had to describe it in 3 words I'd say: Fun.Fitness.Team spirit.
"Still Kicking is a space where everyone can have fun, learn something new and enjoy getting some exercise. I love changing the game - Penny is a perfect example - someone who thought that she was rubbish at sport. Seeing her relaxed, having fun and enjoying playing football is what it's all about."
